Well I'm going to start this article with some information about a job that does not even have.

I was repairing a rental house for a specific property in about three years when all of a sudden I get a call from him telling me to rent the house had been destroyed and who had never seen anything more. Seemed so concerned about the phone, I told him he would meet with him immediately.

On the way home, I tried to get an idea into his head to go homeactually looks like. As they have been for the repair of rental properties for over 20 years at this point in my career, something really shocked me. I had seen almost everything possible to rent property, and tenants who lived there. There is much to say about the care of it as if it were your own.

I was waiting at the door, and looked disgusted. When I was him, shakes his head and cry at the same time, you might think is approachingthese people are, you can think what they did to my house. I expect to see the door ripped, and all the windows broken out of the house, but it was not the case.

As he guided me through the house, and I could see the street clothes on the floor, broken rails, and drilling holes in the walls and, of course, the terrible smell of mold and mildew. All these things were not new to me, because I am the man they call them to determine when a tenant to move from the property.

When I became arooms have my first view of something I had never seen before, but have heard of my eyes and I could not believe it. Search the walls of the bedroom about 3 feet off the ground all around the room, the plaster is soft. It really looks like someone slipping into the wall of popcorn in one way or another.

The house does not even want to watch as a consequence of the rest of the damage in the house. I started to explain to him more than anything I've ever seen, but I would say that it waswater damage, one way or another, since the plaster is soft. I could really keep my finger in the wall is such that the plaster is soft.

My first thought was to look at the carpet a bit 'to see if it gets wet. Well it was damp, but it was wet as I expect that with the amount of water in the walls. With a little more control at home, I found the culprit, broke a water bed. The waterbed is now in the yard seems stupid.

I could not believe that abroken water bed could do so much damage, so I looked around for breakage or leakage of pipes and could not find any. The second bad news I had to put the house, was that the water had lesions in the bathroom cabinet and even the walls. The walls of the course was the other side of the bathroom wall that was damaged.

Well, the point of this story is that the water actually cast his way, or he himself had worked in a wall. I had to remove 4 feet in plaster allroom. The plaster of plaster or effectively acts as a sponge to draw water into the walls. Difficult to think of gravity in this case seems to be a man. I never imagined that water would have to date the walls to create a lot of accidents rose.

To repair a rental property that I had removed the damaged plaster, removing carpets, wooden frames dry and put everything back together.

I am still amazed and remember that the project asAs long as I live.

When you're on the right side of the plaster finishing tools, your plaster repair job much easier – guaranteed!

As a young man in training for a final plaster, I also learned how to repair plaster. And the great thing is … I found I could use the same to deal with plaster problems that I have been with the band and panels we installed Sheetrock finishing.

We're talking about plastering tools like broad knives and mudpans, plaster hawks and trowels, taping knives of various widths, mixing tools and so on.

The use of plaster finishing materials, our approach to the treatment of plaster cracks and holes is very similar to what we would do on the plasterboard.

As the plaster must be signed in seams and top-coated, then plaster cracks should be recorded on tape and above, if you want to remain closed. You can patch holes in much the same way that you want to repair holes repairedplaster. And for this you need a knife to cut into points of both gypsum and gypsum plaster.

Consider first the blade belt. It comes in various sizes and types of metal.

At a minimum, the maintainer of plaster of a pair of blades strip. At least a four-inch knife, and a knife, five or six inches .. The four-inch knife is useful when you use the tape plaster in the corners where a crack has developed – both forheld in the band, and then for the top layer of each side of the angle of the band. The five or six-inch knife is your best all-around tool for use on a regular seams – taken from the coat of mud and cattle from the paper tape after it was put in place.

Personally, I prefer to include knives with blades in stainless steel. Not rust, and in general are harder ordinary steel (though it may be a little 'stiffer). If you want to do a lot of repair plastergo ahead and pay the extra money and get stainless steel appliances. There will serve you well.

A sit on top of your skirt stuck patch crack, you need a great pair of wings. The narrow one is for the first layer on top, the larger one for the final layer on top.

There can be differences on these shores. I think it comes down to what is easier to manage. Women are often wider global knives are a bit 'difficult to treat – and more strenuousstressful for the muscles of the arm. Four and six-inch tape blade is small and easily, even if full of mud, but tens and twelve inches wide blades can be much more tax.

For people who have problems with large knives, there are ways to compensate and achieve the same results of an eight-inch knife used in place of the ten and twelve centimeters of them. And 'more work and requires more time, though.

For those who have the power of larger knives, I recommend using a ten-inch knifeFor the first layer on top and a twelve-inch for each other.

Mud pots. They are plastic, galvanized metal and stainless steel. Plastic pots are cheap, but do not stop using for too long. The pots are lighter than galvanized metal rust, but costs less. Might be useful to have a couple of pots, an admission shorter and longer than any of the steps of level.

My favorite tool for both the upper layer of gypsum seams and cracks are sticky plasterplasterer's hawk and trowel. It's great practice tool, but some need to communicate well with them. Once you've learned, but you can run circles around most people, a large knife and pan used.

In reality it is a matter of personal preference. Can I order the topcoat with a broad knife and mud pan, but I much prefer the tools, the painter for speed and ease. I like the spatula 13 or 14 cm long, especially for a hard butt joints in plaster to complete andhandling of irregularities in the repair of plaster.

A good thing all of these tools is that you are faced with a large marking the U.S. dollar. Fifty to one hundred dollars (USA – 2007) will cover almost everything, depending on what you choose to buy.

Drywall finishing tools are a pleasure to use when working with the learning curve. And when the plaster repair work is finished, you earn the right to take a step back and admire your work. Youtake the money spent for the right tool for a job well done is not.

Over the years I worked in the field of home renovation, I saw the home repairs done by professionals and amateurs, and most of the time there's a big difference between them.

The other day I was watching a house built in 1922 and the landlord wanted an estimate for your bathroom renovated. Looking around the house, I can say that some home repairs done by amateurs, and I continued to ask her about them.

Told me thatwas not a big problem and I will be setting them anyway, so why should they worry about them. I tried to explain the difference between renting a home repair professional or amateur work on his house. These problems created by inexperienced amateurs, home repair people, now has its cost of thousands of dollars for a solution to a professional.

Now I have his attention, he began to listen carefully to everything that I could speak. Nownext part of this is not to make every home happy, but I really do not get what you pay for most of the time.

It 'much easier to show someone if they are to convince them that I am on their side. Their interests are best in mind, and I'm just trying to help them solve problems. Most home repair professionals want you to recommend them to friends, and with this in mind, a good job not always.

Amateur on the other hand, feel the same way andWe would like to have references to a company to expand, but lack of experience is needed for a good home repairs. The main difference between a home repair professional or amateur experience, and the price.

Some homeowners will always be interested in a couple of dollars to save their home repairs and ultimately cost more money in the future. Sometimes it is better to pay a professional a few dollars today, than it is to pay a price less amateur, only to discoveryou down the repair itself later.

Always hire a professional with experience.
